I took my wife and kids along on a business trip to Florida. My youngest son had never seen a mini-bar before, and naturally didn’t know how the concept worked. Unbeknownst to me and my wife, he had been taking items from the mini-bar all week and putting them in his suitcase to take home. When we went to check out, we had a charge for $98 on our bill. I told them that couldn’t possibly be accurate -- we had taken nothing from the mini-bar. She deleted the charge and said she’d investigate what happened. When we got home and my wife went to unpack my son’s Spiderman suitcase, she laughed out loud when she found boxes of Oreos, gummi bears, jelly beans, Snickers bars, and even a tiny bottle of vodka! Chagrined, I called the hotel to ‘fess up to the charge, and we had a long talk with my small son about taking things that don’t belong to him!

Should have kept it locked. Did the minibar have a key?
